First spring rain

At the first promise of rain I rush outside, holding my camera. Halfway down the garden rains falls down. A puppy dances under my feet, my foot slips on the wet grass and I land on my ass. Hard.

Never mind, I hobble towards the Nautilus where F is already sheltering from the rain. For the next couple of hours we wander around, sharing the bliss of the green things that surrounds us. Exams forgotten, we head out to our favourite Indian restaurant. Such is madness of the first rains of spring.

girl your photos really do something for me. they are very.... i just don't know yet what it is.. or have proper words yet. for one thing though i can smell the rain and hear it pounding.. and the sky filled with wetness is palpable to my skin. something really good goes on when you are holding that camera...rain or shine.

Rain is just so wonderful, especially if you've been waiting for it!

How wonderful! And don't worry too much about your absenteeism...I have been absent more then I care to be this past year. I hope the exams and attendant anxiety are over soon.

Sometimes you just have to throw the work to the side and revel in the Rite of Spring. Indian sounds good!

Hope your butt is better :P

good morning...again. your visit today made me smile. i don't know where i thought you lived but when i saw what you wrote i smiled. now that would be quite a different place to experience than the little red church in the rain of oregon! i also added you to my list of friends on my blog where you belong. i'm glad you came to see me.

We are both writing about rain. Drops of water on leaves. A very universal thing. I like that.

Whoa, this picture is so cool! So wait, your school year is about to end down there? That's so strange--I keep forgetting that your summer months are December, January, and February. It's freezing here then.

What year are you in school? I thought you were older.

By the way, just figured out that you're a girl. I'm not saying that as an insult, I just wanted to let you know that I literally had no idea (I made the same mistake with Jo(e)).

Reading posts like this always reminds me at how different our surroundings are. Here, the first rain of spring is nothing to be celebrated, it's that feeling of "Again! When will there be sun?"

I'd like to take a bit of our summer rains and send them South...

It's a blessing, isn't it? I can feel your joy. :)

I love that you are entering spring as the leaves fall off the trees here. Feels good to know that the sun is always shining somewhere.

The raindrops on the leaf look unusually clouded, like diamonds resting on green velvet.

That rain looks so good. We are in a deep drought here in Central Texas. October is often our wettest month and we got less than 2 inches. In fact, the period from Jan.-Oct. 2008 is the 6th driest since 1856.
