Transient truths

Know all things to be like this:
A mirage, a cloud castle,
A dream, an apparition,
Without essence, but with qualities that can be seen.

Know all things to be like this:
As the moon in a bright sky
In some clear lake reflected,
Though to that lake the moon has never moved.

Know all things to be like this:
As an echo that derives
From music, sounds, and weeping,
Yet in that echo is no melody.

Know all things to be like this:
As a magician makes illusions
Of horses, oxen, carts and other things,
Nothing is as it appears.

The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying - Sogyal Rinpoche

For Flutter - because the relection of the moon in the lake reminded me of her

This made me cry.

I'm a bit of a wreck these days, but this: "As an echo that derives
From music, sounds, and weeping,
Yet in that echo is no melody" spoke volumes about our trip this weekend, and I have been thinking of flutter often these days, too.

I forgot to say congratulations on the exams and the well-deserved break. I think South Africa has been calling me back. And your friendship is a very big part of that.

I loved this.

'As the moon in a bright sky
In some clear lake reflected,
Though to that lake the moon has never moved.'

What more can be said?

Beautiful, of course! And congrats on the end of exams for a while. :)

Oh how this made me cry as well. For different reasons than my Sage (who is one of my favorite people, ever), but for some the same.

You, my sweetest soul sister are just a bridge right directly into my heart. You see how mother nature opened up her sky for you?
Thank you for this, sweet Hel.

That Flutter inspires a terrible beauty. And the terrible I refer to is a good thing.

How wonderful of you to do this.
