A dream

last night I had a profoundly beautiful dream

i was high up in the mountains, the air was cold against my face, the purple of far away mountains and the pale yellow of dusk was all around. two large whooping cranes flew high above my head and I was filled with their majesty.

later i was walking down the road. a wind sprung up . it first rustled the tall pale grasses and then lifted my hair.

a voice filled me and said: "you are always yearning towards following the wind. wanting to follow it to where you will find me. in a land free of people with their bustle and noise. where there is only my voice in the wind and a liberated nature"

I felt my entire being streaming after the wind, filled with its lightness. i longed to follow it to where god can be found. pale pink and yellow triangles of light was carried along the wind, together with pale white bits of grass.

the voice continued. "if you penetrate deeply into everything that surrounds you, everything, whether you perceive it as good or bad, you will find me. because that is where i reside. where love resides. everything starts in me and returns to me”

Oh my. This is incredible. Once again, I followed you, this time into your dream, feeling the wind aginst my face, the skitter of leaves along the ground. Incredible.

Wonderful evocative words, more like a poem than prose.
And such lovely pics of your furry friends.
Thank you for letting us in.

That's not a dream. That's an epiphany.

I found this poem awhile ago, your writing reminded me of it.

The lesson which life repeats and constantly enforces is
“Look under foot.” You are always nearer to the divine
and the true sources of your power than you think.
The lure of the distant and the difficult is deceptive.
The great opportunity is where you are.
Do not despise your own place and hour.
Every place is under the stars,
every place is the center of the world.

Those dogs look so happy all curled up, napping in the grass.

Wow what a dream!

You are such a beautiful soul, Hele.

OK, do I think we have control over destiny? Actually I don't think we have control over much of anything but I do think destiny is participatory, that what we put out into the world in terms of intention, for instance, does have an impact - sometimes a great impact, sometimes more subtle.

Destiny is, for me, a dance. I'm one of the dancers. The other dancer is vast and ancient. I try to follow, maybe add a few steps of my own here and there. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Sweet dreams!

Breathe deep, because when you breathe the wind, you are inhaling the wisdom of the earth.
