I'm feeling a bit in between right now so not so many words but I did list ten things I like about myself:

2. Being able to hear the unsaid things.

3. The ability to recognize beauty. In trees, light, things, animals and people.
4. I yearn to make a difference, to charm life into surrendering its grace to everyone.

5. I have a great bullshit filter. No advertisement is ever going to persuade me that washing my face with soap will turn me into a blond super model.
6. I have the courage to explore parts of myself I would love to ignore.

7. I have learned to be patient with myself. I can recognize a confused-wanting-to-please child in me which allows me to be gentle and patient with myself.
8 I can laugh at myself.

9. I believe in magic.
10. I am good at analysing data and recognising patterns.

And now I'm going to follow Bohemian girl's advice and snap out of my funk. But first I'm going to stick my head under the pillow and feel sorry for myself, then my bullshit filter will jump into place after which I will start laughing at myself. Hopefully this will result in wanting to charm the socks of Florian tonight and life tomorrow.

I would love to have a beer waiting in your fridge for me Hel, that would be incredible. Better would be to drink the beers with you and Jen, sigh.
I've got a great bullshit filter that I immediately negate because I want to believe that the world isn't so full of it.
I believe in magic too and I find a little bit of heaven everytime I visit you here. xoxo
I'll take one of those beers also, love.
And how about dinner? and a hug? and a run with your wolves in the moonlight?
jen wants to come drink that beer and replace it with five more and drink those with you and Flo too.
i'll bring Flutter.
I've been out of touch the last few days around here so was so happy to see this lovely post.
magic is everywhere, hel. you are such lovely magic. you are.
and we will.
"I have the courage to explore parts of myself I would love to ignore."
I like that, and it's hard to do but necessary I think.
So beautiful, you are. I would love for you to put a beer in your fridge for me but it may take YEARS before I can drink it. Any plans to come to Canada? If so, I can have a Grasshopper or a Propeller waiting for you. Better yet, I'll open two bottles tonight. One for me and one for you (which I will have to drink on your behalf, because who wants to waste beer right :) and we'll have a little toast and charm the pants off life.
THe ability to laugh at yourself is an important quality
Can I have a glass of white wine? If it's cold outside, can it be red - and not in the fridge? Oh, to hell with it, break out the tequila! Do you have any limes?
See what a pain in the ass guest I'd be? You really don't want me to come over.
Your 10 things were very modest, and mellow, probably a lot like you. It always amazes me how life can seem so unbelievably hard and the next day, boom, it's not hard anymore. Hoping your next day is not hard.
I don't even drink.. but I'll take the beer. You can bring it along when you visit me in Khon Kaen. Until then, keep it in the fridge.
Are you accepting "Things We Like About Hel" from others? If so.... :)
I like your poetic and deep spirit.
I like that you are willing to examine things that scare the heck out of most people.
I like your honesty and integrity ~ in all things. You are trustworthy.
And that's just a beginning.
Want more? :)
Peace,
~Chani
You are magic itself.
#3 is so apparent in you.
I believe in magic too..and I like beer :)
Your photos of nature are beautiful..the beauty and magic are everywhere around us and just have to be found..
You ROCK! and you have been tagged. Please check my blog for your award.
Thanks,Hel..I like the lavender and its fragrance very much and I always keep a little cotton bag with lavender flowers under my pillow..
It would be lovely to kick back and have a cold beer or two with you someday...
I love your list. It's one of the best I've seen - wonderful qualities. And I'm so glad you recognize that you have them in you.
I yearn to make a difference, to charm life into surrendering its grace to everyone.
Yes, that's so clear in your writing. I feel that too, as you know.
And I want to join you. I was so jealous to learn that my parents will be visiting your part of the world in October.
Hel... award for you over my way, too. :)
Peace,
~Chani
whatever you're serving is what I'm drinking. all in, I say.
You're not a blonde supermodel? I'm shocked!
(Just kidding. I loved your list. And I have a beer or two to contribute : )
Thank you for doing this. I especially love "I yearn to make a difference, to charm life into surrendering its grace to everyone."
I won't be coming to your part of the world any time soon. But maybe I should put a beer in my fridge for you. After all there is a reason that Bavarian beer is famous.
What a lovely list!
I have always believed in magic, too, but YOU are able to create it.
